The purpose of the Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida is to provide a structured, viable, and caring youth development program, no matter their circumstance, in order to help lead them to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida is the Head Start & Early Head Start grantee for Taylor County Florida. Through our Head Start grant, we serve children starting at six weeks of age. This allows us to serve children throughout their childhood and make a lasting impact to improve their lives through quality experiences. 

The Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida was founded in 1990 by a group of caring and concerned citizens who wanted quality youth programming for the children of Taylor County.

The Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida provides after services/programs for its members which include homework help, education and literacy, sports, fitness and recreation, career, health and life skills, character and leadership, and more. The programs are housed in seven locations: Veteran’s Park Club, the Teen Club, Steinhatchee Stingray Club, Shady Grove Club, Mayo Unit, Early Head Start and Head Start.

The Safety and Wellbeing of Young People is Our Number One Priority

We work every day to create a safe, inclusive and fun environment so kids can have every opportunity to be successful in life. We have no tolerance for inappropriate behavior of any kind, including child sexual abuse or misconduct, and we put resources behind that stance. 

Culture of Safety: Boys And Girls Club of North Central Florida continually updates robust safety policies, programs and training for staff and volunteers to promote child safety and protect young people from threats in our society.
