Program Application to Start Enrollment Process

The Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida is proud to be the Head Start & Early Head Start grantee for Taylor County Florida. We are funded to serve 54 Head Start children ages 3 & 4 and 40 Early Head Start children ages 6 weeks -2 years old. 

The Boys & Girls Club Head Start program seeks to serve the entire family through comprehensive services. At the foundation of our program is a series of goals for children (school readiness goals), families (family partnership goals), and the organization (program goals) that address the five essential domains of: social emotional, physical development and health, approaches to learning, language and literacy and cognition and general knowledge. A number of research-based curricula will be implemented including the Creative Curriculum system and Teaching Strategies Gold assessment along with the comprehensive Head Start services model.

Other curriculum employed are ReadyRosie parenting classes, Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management, Incredible Years Dinosaur School, the SPARK Early Childhood health curriculum, WISE nutrition, and Science Start to support STEM.

Head Start agencies that provide services to children and families must meet the Head Start Program Performance Standards and the requirements set forth in the Head Start Act of 2007. The Office of Head Start also offers offers direction through Program Instructions (PIs) and Information Memorandums (IMs).
